We are open and ready to assist your family.
We want to let you know that we are continuing to perform our services during these unprecedented times and are here to address your concerns and questions.
We provide services to the community similar to the first responders. We are here if and when you need us most. We want families to know that we are taking protective measures to keep everyone safe. Our high standards of service, is equal to our
well-maintained and clean facility.
We have ALWAYS cleaned and disinfected our facilities after family’s services and/or visitations. This includes but is not limited to cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming and mopping the floors, cleaning surfaces, and door handles. We have ALWAYS done this and will
continue in the future. The CDC guidelines for COVID-19 are the Hitzeman Funeral Home’s typical high standards of care that we have always adhered to. This is not new to us.
We are fully-operational to provide families the services they desire to say good-bye and honor their loved one. We can accomplish most necessities, if needed, through phone calls and emails. We can obtain vital information electronically through our website.
We will work with churches and cemeteries on a case by case situation.
CDC guidelines are posted in our public areas for preventable contraction of the COVID-19 virus. We will keep exhaust fans on to provide fresh air exchanges. We pride ourselves with our ability to help every family and will do so through this difficult
time as we have always done for the last 116 years.
If there is an occurrence of COVID-19 in our area, the CDC guidance states, “There is currently no known risk associated with being in the same room at a funeral or visitation service with the body of someone who dies of COVID-19.” The proper embalming process, in
fact, by definition is used for not only preservation but disinfection. We are keeping the recommendations of the CDC and Health Department in mind with regards to our visitations and funeral services and family and friends wishing to pay their last respects. While this situation continues to evolve, we will adjust our protocols to best service our staff and families.
The needs of our families, our staff, and the community are at the foremost in our mind. We are here for you. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call (708) 485-2000. A family member or staff will personally answer your call 24 hours a
day.
Take care of yourself and check on your loved ones!
