Most of you already know that we host a monthly grief support group for the community. We’ve been lightening things up this summer with crafts, potlucks and more. We want to shift the focus this August to our little loved ones. All children grieve differently, and we may not always know what they need and when they need it. However, it’s
important that they have an outlet to express themselves and their feelings.
We invite you and your children to join us for an afternoon of fun as we roll up our sleeves and make Treasure Boxes for our lost loved ones. Through this project, your child can express themselves and create a personalized memory box to hold their treasured memories of their loved one. The Treasure Box can be made for anyone that your
child may have lost – a parent, grandparent, sibling, cousin or even a cherished pet. We suggest bringing a small photograph of your loved one that can be placed somewhere on or inside the Treasure Box. This craft is a great place for your child to store mementos, photographs, letters and any other trinkets that hold a special place in their heart.
